Monarch Migration
Digitally Signed & Numbered
Monarch butterflies migrate 2,000-3,000 miles to Mexico and California, with eastern populations navigating through high-elevation mountain ridges-such as the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina-from mid-August through October. They travel along these ridges and use mountain forests for shelter, resting on trees and wildflowers like goldenrod to fuel their journey.
